My license still has my old address from 5 moves ago. Has never been an issue.

kind of like doing your taxes yourself, everything is allowed until you get audited

You can't do it online?

odds are it will catch up to him too, and it'll cost a lot more than just doing what he was supposed to do

Serious question, but even if you get pulled over, is this really an issue? Struggling to imagine a cop writing a citation unless you’re just being a complete arse during a stop.
I got one already and of course it was a cop in Livonia and I was pleasant.
I also got a ticket for a fricking Saints license plate cover that barely covered the registration sticker. I was fricking livid.

Renewed my license two months ago without issue. Didn’t update address because I’ll probably be moving again in a few months. Next move will likely be more permanent, then I’ll update it.

How would a cop know the address is wrong unless you told him/her? If the address doesn’t match what’s on your proof of insurance, how does the cop know the insurance address is old? I don’t think there’s a law about keeping that current within 10 days of a move.
I can’t imagine a cop NOT writing you up for outdated address on your license. No big deal - you show proof in court and it gets dropped.
If a cop asks if the address is current, tell him or her that you’ll get anything mailed to that address; you don’t have to self-confess to a violation.
When you go to the OMV, you’ll need to present proof of residency.

Just do it when you get around to it. They aren’t going to hunt you down.

All of y'all without your current address on your license would be hard pressed to vote in Georgia unless you were voting in the same county your old address was in.

You can’t do an address change online. I just went through this too. Had to change the address to get homestead exemption.

Not receiving important mail such as notices from the OMV.
As stated, this was the source of my $700 lesson from a few months ago.
