I don't believe brag is the right word. It's good for businesses to promote themselves as a "giving back to the community" business and it's good that the business gives back. If all other things were equal, I'd rather do business with the company giving back to their local community.
The local business gets a write off, a form of self promotion and helps locally. Not sure why you see an issue here. Seems like smart business to me.

I have not seen a promoted post like this before. I have seen it from companies I follow.
I guess I'm already sick of the billboard attorneys in LA and now they have taken to FB with this type of shite.

I would not call this bragging. I would look at it more like a chain letter. Somebody donated pizzas and then they challenge others to do the same.
I would rather see this type of act promoted more than the crap ads most lawyers run on TV, billboards, social media, etc.

I don't, because I don't feel like I need to. However, I do believe our system ( jobs, organizations, communities ) tends to strongly encourage people to do quantify their generosity.
In many cases, at least some of the motivation behind it actually admirable. However, other people have no issues with using any and all acts as kindness as PR material.
For businesses known to be lightning rods for public hatred, charity work/donations are a traditional distraction for the public. You grease politicians' palms and appease the public with virtue signalling.

This is probably part of the issue. It seems so transparent.

The only people that know who I donate to are my kids and ex wife because they handled the mail (back when we used mail for that).
