Early last week, Houston ISD had March 30th as the official going back date and later in the week it was pushed to April.
Teachers are still getting paid, but I think parents and educators want the kids to go back to school when we get the all clear. How will kids go 5-6 months out of school when their parents have to physically go back to work? K12 schools start their academic year in August and September.
Schools are an important piece of the economy.

When the school year starts in August. For Louisiana that is. You baws in Texas that start after Labor Day will do that.

Kids have tested positive. Kids can be carriers as well (even if they haven't tested for it).
One goes to school, passes on two 3 other kids. Those three kids goes home and passes to 3 other people. A grandparent, an uncle recovering from cancer an older cousin that has asthma..
But yeah.. Lets keep the schools open since no kids have died from it.
