The first question that comes to mind...was her hair in a doo rag? I got called aunt jemima Wednesday at work...it happens.

ETA-and it was by a Dr. and he laughed and called me ghetto and Oaktown. Can I sue?

Oh, there's a lot worse product names he could have invoked. I have a scumbag family member who collects all manner of that shite.

Apparently, there is quite the market for those things. Anytime we go antique shopping we end up seeing at least one or 2 stores with a whole Aunt Jemima-esque section. Who knew?

Do you have a working relationship with this doctor and is it normal for yall to joke around with each other?

What if you went to a doctor and when he walked into the room he made a comment like "hey baby. hopefully you are one of those good women who will go home after this appointment to have supper prepared for your husband when he gets home" and he is dead serious?

no snowflake, everything isn't offensive or racist, when this fad of men shaving their heads started I had a friend do it, the first time I saw him I said something to the effect of "that you Mr. Clean?" couldn't have been further from racist and he wasn't even offended !!!! shocking!!!

I'm usually the first to call bullshite on racial claims but this is probably racist. I know for a fact that I would never refer to a black person as "Aunt Jemima" because that would be racist.

So I assume you can see how that is an apples and oranges comparison to a doctor and patient.

My point was playing devils advocate...maybe her attire contributed to the comment which was still inappropriate.

That was my point as well. If she looks or dresses like Aunt Jemima in any way, it is not a racist comment, just stupid.

It's exactly like Oweo's doctor walking into the room and yelling "TIMMAY"! Stupid, but not racist.

But can you answer how the frick this is considered news?

I think the wtf factor is what made it into the news. Why would a DR say that? It's like news of the weird.
