People that workout on their vacation are the worst.

How do you treat this situation? When friends or family visit and the concept of daily exercise isn’t a common fhought? Do you spend the weekend sitting around being fat, or do you feel comfortable leaving them to go workout for an hour or two or is that an a-hole move?

Honestly you should just go workout. Go for 2 hours. After reading your post it is pretty clear no one is coming to see you. They are coming to see your wife. They won't say it but you being gone for 2 hours is likely the highlight of their day. 2 less hours they have to spend with an arrogant a-hole.

Trust me... this is sound advice.

Maybe try just going run before they get up if you’re hosting people you care about.

This dude isn't in shape enough to go for a run...that is why he goes to the "gym" and has to let everyone know about it.

I couldn’t imagine possibly caring less about this. My visiting family can figure out what to do with themselves for an hour if I want to go work out

I mentioned I was going to go to the gym for about an hour and got some weird looks. Should I feel bad?

No, your family already knows you're a meat head and you obviously don't want to spend time with them.

I think it's weird when you have people visit for the weekend and THEY go and workout. Unless you're getting ready for a competition of some sort, chill out and relax

When I was a vain sober pussy working out for looks, not health, I'd go for 8 mile runs at 5 am and be back before anyone was up. Then make the in laws and errybody breakfast.

Going at 8am is absurd. Spend that fricking time with them and stop being a selfish fig.
You could have gone to a park at 6am and done sit ups and push ups and lunges in between 100m sprints.
You that dude who has to see himself in the mirror to make a workout count?
You're running from something.

the ONLY time that's acceptable is a sunrise wade or walk on the beach and to shake off a hangover so you can day drink again. But you're absolutely right about them cockjocks who bring their bikes and go cycling 40 fricking miles along 30A every morning of vacation. I always see them in the resort and hope they'll fall and scrape their knees too bad to play in the gulf.

Usually when people come to visit, I'll skip the gym b/c we're busy taking them around town, showing them the sights, eating and drinking and generally just visiting.

No one comes to visit and then just sits on my sofa all weekend watching TV or something. We find fun stuff to do.

From the pic that I was able to briefly view, I concur. Keep doing what you’re doing.
