Gay men still have fathers and brothers and male friends growing up.
Not all of those people are always understanding.
A gay guy I'm friends with has talked to my wife and I about how easy it was to come out to his friends, but having the conversation with his old school, Mississippi delta raised dad was gut wrenching.
