Thoughts?
I try to match quality of components across the system. Meaning if your living room speakers are $300-500 then that's a good receiver for them. That's pretty damn cheap, but the features seam nice. I just don't know what kind of quality amplification you're going to get, not that it would matter with cheapo speakers.
Why do you have surround sound in a kitchen? I guess I'm just old. Anyway, for the living room I'd get a nice integrated amp, the term receiver I thought applied to devices that picked up radio signals.

I really only have two speakers flush mounted in the ceiling in the kitchen. That receiver was just an old one I had laying around and used it. I don't need a surround sound receiver for the kitchen. Should have clarified that previously. But the receiver in the living room is older as well and I figured it would be fine for the kitchen and update the one in the living room.

Update, not upgrade...The features do sound nice, just not sure that a $300 receiver could be an upgrade over what you have.
What type speakers do you have in the living room?

Bose something. I really don't remember which series. They're probably about 3-4 years old.

Cable guy re grounded to main ground, same problem... When I plug my unplugged iphone into a 3.5 to RCA input on the receiver there is no hum... When I plug my computer into a 3.5 to RCA into the amp the gound loop is back (not as bad as when the coax is plugged in)...so it's not JUST with the coax ...what could it be ???
