I don't try to avoid butterflies either.

I like animals.
Animals > Young men in full-sized trucks with beards and full-sleeve tattoos who think they’re bad asses because they nailing some skanks

Slow down.
Never seen one on a highway, just on residential streets.

Try to hit him, then call the wife and tell her to start the gravy.

Nothing, keep driving.
They're bushy-tailed tree rats. Destructive vermin. I also dispatch them to tree rat hell with my Gamo Silent Cat air rifle when I catch them on my bird feeders. Starlings and English Sparrows too(not native birds for the US, introduced from the UK).

Squirrels I try to avoid.
Driving through New Orleans at night, though, you’ll run across the occaisional rat in the road. I do everything I can to try to smash those frickers.

This. What moron wouldn't?
A moron who wants to avoid a vehicle crash that might kill a pedestrian or human passenger. Your Mini Cooper probably won’t hurt the squirrel anyway.

I live in Bucktown and about once a month a duck gets greased on W. Esplanade. Unless it is in the middle of the night I can't understand how someone just runs over a duck.
