When does this #MeToo movement lose credibility completely in the media?

I am growing very tired of this culture we have that not only allows, but outright encourages, public accusations and shaming without due process. I was watching GMA this morning and they completely turned Shaun White’s Olympic press conference, after his historic Gold performance, into a circus of ridiculous questions about sexual harassment in 2016. These claims are centered around the drummer in his old band (a woman) and him showing the band the video “2 Girls 1 Cup”. She sued him and settled out of court and won a ton of money for this. There are literally videos on YouTube of people showing that to their grandmothers and filming the reactions.

This public witch hunt culture not only ruins the lives of men that are not guilty of anything worthy of their punishment, but also, and more importantly, distracts from victims of actual sexual crimes.

It harms people of both genders, and often irreparably. It's a fricking disgrace.

I think the Azi Ansari story started the slow build-up to people not giving a shite about it without actual evidence.

Or...the first time a man tries it with absolutely no proof and only his word against some high profile woman and people laugh him out of the public sphere.

#metoo = all women all 100% truthful 100% of the time 100% of what they say.

innocent until proven guilty or having an actual trial is so last century.

Shawn White wins gold medal last night and media asks him about an issue from 2 years ago that was already heavily reported and has been resolved.

I'm not saying Shawn White is above scrutiny or that he didn't do anything wrong, but a reporter who did a story on it made the statement that the me too movement is big right now and he is now a part of it.

Whatever you think of the metoo movement, to think it has lost credibility in the media already is silly. Likely for both better and for worse, the media will milk it for as much sensationalism as it can.

all liberal progressive movements lose steam once another group starts screaming for more attention.

There is no downside to women just making up accusations and hoping the media runs with it.

They don't need proof of anything and have no negative consequences because they aren't the wealthy, famous one.

Now, I listened to Kate Upton tell her story about the Guess Jeans guy and I completely believe her. She has absolutely no financial or fame incentive to say those things and has the camera man as a corroborating witness.

That is legitimate, yet all people are talking about on morning shows today was Shaun White settling out of court with a former member of his band 2 years ago for showing them a raunchy video.

Ridiculous.

With the media? As in the MSM? Never - it feeds right into their leftist agenda.

Conservative women in the media are all about it too.

Its almost scripted:

Unknown Woman - "He sexually harrassed me in 1998!"

Man - "No I didn't, that's ludicrous."

Woman - "Yes you did!"

Man - "You have no proof because it didn't happen"

Then the headlines read: "VICTIM CLAIMS JOHN DOE SEXUALLY ASSAULTED HER"

Why again is she called the victim if there is no proof or evidence of any wrong doing? Isn't he the victim of slander and defamation?

Because we all know how it would play out without hard evidence...and even then would anyone REALLY give a shite?

At this point some enterprising young dude ought to try it as a social experiment. Pick some high profile woman and just claim something and see if the same standard applies...

None of this is to say that guys that behaved truly badly should not be called out. but simply believing ANY woman about ANYTHING just because she claims it has got to stop.

It's only just beginning. Identity-politics Marxism is the the new norm. Some identities are more equal than others, though, and our identities can determine what realities we choose to recognize or disavow.

Never. There will always be a Weinstein or woody Allen out there.

If it women and SJW don't concede that there are degrees to everything then they will only cheapen their cause.
