When does polite society fight back against line-breaking?

Was on vacation this past week and the scourge of line breaking is absolutely out of control.

I do not understand what part of the human brain must be deficient, such that someone can walk up to a line, and immediately try to go to the front of it, or sneak their way in half-way down the line.

This is no longer an issue limited to certain nationalities, cultures, races, etc. I do think it is tied to the concept of entitlement that continues to sweep over.

So, what do we do to fight back?

1) Stick our foot out and trip them when they walk past?

2) Talk about them loudly in hopes of embarrasing them?

3) Directly confront them?

4) Physically remove them ourselves?

The management of whatever the line is trying to get into must turn them away.

I directly confront them.

80% of the time they act annoyed that I or someone said something to then and want to be argumentative.

20% of the time they will say/act like they didn't notice and apologize. I tend to doubt that, because usually they end up just walking away all together if it's a longer line.

You can not embarrass someone who does not have a conscience.

"There's a line, MFer, and this isn't the back of it" usually works, followed by physical removal if it doesn't.

Things like cutting in line seem minor/trivial, but that's what makes it one of the most disrespectful things one can do. It's kind of like how killing someone over $1 is perceived as worse than killing someone in a $100,000,000 heist. It's far too easy to NOT do it and the benefits from doing it don't amount to all that much, which turns it into little more than "F you; I'm better than you."

I'd submit things like cutting in line, parking in handicapped spots/fire lanes, etc. - things that amount to entitlement/selfishness and disregard of society/others - should be met with absolute beatings.

These same managers / companies support policies that fire the employee for confronting a shoplifter.

These people are like Progressives. It is impossible to embarrass them. If you talk about them loudly, you will only feed their narcissism.

Line skippers are close relatives of the parking lot buggy abandoners, selfish twats.

I usually don’t get worked up over it and let it ride.

I do however have a red line that no line skipper dare cross without consequence - the snow crab line at the China Buffet.

Confronted a group of probably 8 to 10 year old girls at a church picnic about cutting in line for face painting. I ain’t here to frick around boys.

In my defense the painter was extraordinarily slow and I had been in like 20 to 30 minutes as it was and was staring down the barrel of another 30, especially by adding two little shits to the front of the line. My little girl was waiting patiently like a good God-fearing American.

Unless they are confronted, they will keep doing it.

Changing the world, one a-hole at a time.

Directly confront them. Remind them that it's just not you that has a problem with their line cutting, it is everyone behind you...so they have to not only whup your arse, but everyone else behind you...

And say it loud enough so that everyone in line can hear you...just in case there is someone behind you in line that is bigger than you and with less patience with line cutters...let them do the enforcing

People need to start speaking up, put pressure on the cutter and the people who just allow that shite to fly.

I caused a scene at Costco a few months back for a line cutter. The line to get your receipt checked for all the bullshite you just paid for was around 30 deep with 2 workers checking. As I'm next-to-go a lady comes up to the front and jumps in front of me, to which myself and several people behind verbally spoke up about. The worker, knowing full well she'd cut, starts checking her receipt anyway instead of making her get back in line. To which I let out a quite loud "frick all this" and went around and to the parking lot without waiting to get checked. The worker abandoned her post to chase after me into the lot and the 5-6 others behind me who'd seen the cutter promptly all followed right out without being checked. Oh well, she caused that by bending to trash who think they're better than everyone else.
