27 YO. Just called the police for the first time ever of a non-danger situation. For about an hour, a group of about 20 people were shouting and partying up in a garage. With small kids and all, these thugs were just smoking up, f bombing everything and living YOLO. I just could not take it and gave in calling around 1:30. The police arrive on the scene at 1:35 and the entire group runs inside and quickly locks the garage. The police knock for about three minutes and eventually one person answers. It is dead quiet. After about five minutes of snooping, the police leave, and the party folks hop into their Cadillacs and bass off back to Memphis.

Yep, I just see my property value dropping with every one of these incidents. I just don't get those people.

When you have tpos neighbors, you don't just stroll up to their party and tell them to stfu.

The only time I've called was the week we brought my newborn daughter home, the neighbors dog was nonstop barking until 2am right by the babies bedroom window.

It crosses the line, in my opinion, when the event is either a ridiculously loud, late and drawn out party that I can hear in my house still at 2 am or a habitual offense that the same neighbor does day after day. There are occasional parties that irritate me, but my biggest pet peeve is a dumb arse neighbor down the street that rides really loud 4 wheelers all day up and down the street. I work from home and literally cannot hear when I am on speaker phone during meetings. I am not sure if he works on them or is just joy riding, but last year it got extremely ridiculous the number of times per hour he would go back and forth back and forth. Most of the time he had a 3 year old sitting in his lap and he was going very fast. I confronted him without calling the cops and it went about as well as I would have expected the conversation to go, him not even turning the 4 wheeler off as I chewed him out.

If I can hear the neighbor's music IN my home at any time. My closest neighbor is 300'. The one that always crosses the line is more than 600'. Always the bass....

well i was chilling with a few friends, played some music in my car for a few minutes, then after i turned it off and about to head in a cop came by and said there was a noise complaint... and this was on a saturday night...i mean seriously sheesh..

Do you have powered subwoofers?

One time (like 1998) I was pulled over and a cop said that in the next few months the sound ordinance laws would actually increase your penalty based on the number of aftermarket speakers you have.

Same force also told me they didn't need a warrant to toss a house if they had reasonable suspicion.
