Used to love the smell of coffee but now it smells fishy. Never lost taste.

But smell is part of taste. So does coffee taste bad now too?

One year later … there’s a constant smell like burned ashes, and then “regular smells” on top of that are very muted or smell terrible. Coffee, for example, smells like a mixture of burned ashes and dog crap. All dairy products smell sour/rancid like milk that has gone bad. Cooked hamburger meat smells like it had gone bad before I cooked it.

As far as taste [and I’m not sure how much the smell is affecting it or if it is a different issue], nothing tastes good anymore. I’ve lost 15 pounds in the last year because everything tastes gross to me. I can hardly stomach meat. Everything I eat has a similar bad flavor that permeates the food regardless of what it is. It’s so weird that it is the same bad taste no matter what I eat.

I remember what my favorite foods used to taste like, and when I go to eat them, they taste terrible — like they are missing layers and notes of flavor which have been replaced by this flat, yucky taste. I’m constantly asking my husband if the item we are eating tastes weird/bad to him. It’s actually quite depressing.

Started returning a week or so after I lost it, took a solid 8 months to fully recover. I’d like to know how much food I ruined because it wasn’t right.

My sister in law is at 1 year and it's finally returned but things that used to smell good to her smell like shite.

This for sure. I left my coffee maker on yesterday all day. When I got back, instead of smelling like scorched coffee, my house smelled like parmesan cheese. WTF?

I was sick for about 12 hours in Nov 2019. I guess that was my covid experience. Not vaxxed and I rarely wear a mask.

Waiting for a reply to Jake’s clarifications.

Was smelling the buck in the woods the life or death situation or something else?

Had it in July. Smell slowly returning and if I hold a candle or orange or something up close it smells like I remember. Taste is way different though. Everything has a tinny, acidic taste to it. Like a burp and it wants to come back up type of taste. Sucks.

It’s funny because I still can’t tell if it’s 100%. It’s like I forgot what 100% was like.

Dude, exact same for me.. mostly with taste. Foods I used to love are kinda just okay, so I feel like I’m not 100% but I can’t pick up on what exactly is missing. A lot of things are bland and muted to me.

Relax.... According to the poli board, it's all a hoax. So you never lost your sense of smell, you've just been brainwashed by the MSM. Oh, and don't get vaxxed or you'll turn into a liberal.
