No reason to send 2nd graders on dates. Should boy/girl relationships be prevalent at that age?

Children should start learning how to be adults from a young age. You raise your son to be a man and your daughter to be a lady.

This encompasses many, many aspects of life. So even from a young age your son should be holding doors for women, learning to charm, learning how to treat them.

Just as your daughter should be learning how to appreciate these acts and act graciously. “More flies with honey than vinegar” I tell mine. You establish the norms of behaviour. They are learning from you, in what they see.

Now there is ZERO reason for any sexualization, but the social interaction is essential to raising well asjusted kids.

What makes you think it's not?

Nice. I take a different perspective than you and somehow by your own logic that means I have a whore daughter.

You have a different perspective than the mom chaperoning the "date" in the OP and declared that the little girl was destined to be a whore.

Most kids in my day didn’t stop thinking girls had cooties until 5-6th grade when the hormones kicked in.

Middle school= group dates. Nothing more. (Allowed at least, obviously she is going to go lie sometimes and pull fast ones) love your daughters and be a good example of what she should look for in a boyfriend. That’s the only hope you really have. If she’s low hanging fruit you will know because she will attract all the trash dick dipshits

At age 7?! Teaching your child how to date at 7/8 years old will be completely different at 13/14.

Why not focus teaching the 7/8 year old general proper behavior? How do you leap to one on one dating?

7/8 year olds dont even know how to act right among adults yet, but hey lets get the dating scene going so mommy can post cute pics on Facebook for her moms club.

Your son should hold doors open for anyone in need, not just women, have they learned that yet or is it just women that hes told to respect and adore?

My daughter will learn to be a good human and treat all others with respect. Until she learns general social skills from person to person interaction I think ill leave the non-sexual complexities of dating out of the equation.

She doesnt even know algebra yet.

One on one dating between BOY and GIRL. Why is the mom sitting behind them? These 2 need their privacy? Lol what they might kiss?

A million other skills kids need to know and could know, and million other hobbies they could adapt to develop yet dating is the one ZEROED in on? I fail to see how it's a good thing.

Because as I stated young children are impressionable and there are a million other positive and useful skills they can learn without setting a bad precedent. Are dating skills useful at 7 years old?

Know a lot of good women that started dating at 7 years old?

Never said she was destined to be a whore but what skills is the daughter supposed to take away from a one on one private date at 7 years old? And why couldnt she get those skills in another way?

You are being obtuse. Not “dating”...but definitely start teaching them how to interact with people and the opposite sex. Was at a kids party yesterday and the kids were play fighting with some foam mat things. Little girl kept hitting my son with hers, and after about 5 times he whopped her back and she started crying.

Had to explain to him the dynamics of the situation.

Life gives us so many opportunities to mold our children, and if we don’t do it, the world and the media will. So yes, there are aspects of interaction with the opposite sex that kids should learn from a young age.

“Oh, look at me, i’m Tiggertooth and i’m Going to misrepresent everything you say”.

Of course he knows to hold doors and help out the elderly especially too. But once again there are dynamics of social mores in play.

You are writing all sorts of things I didn’t say anything about into your own commentary. What is your major malfunction? Just because I didn’t mention other things doesn’t mean i’m excluding them.

Take a chill pill. Merry Christmas

okay...but don't be mad at the second grade boys who sexualize your daughter in a few years. don't be the guy who says...'i'll kill any boy who grabs my daughter's...' while you ogle some other man's daughter yourself.

quite a double standard you have for the sexuality of your daughter...not the same standard you hold for yourself
