If I could go back to one period of my life it would be the 23-28 year old period. Life was good!!!

Turned 50 last year and realized the most valuable thing i have is time.

I pay someone to do all the shite that took up my weekends and enjoy a lot more me and us time
----

I need to start paying people too.

My dad died a few years ago.

He was 76 and I was 46.

He was in better shape than me til his last couple years.

Ill be happy to make it that long.

Yep, it can even get blurry no matter how involved of a parent you were/are, especially with multiple kids. Sometimes I wonder if I was even there and wife reassures me I was and what all I did Goes by so fast

When I got to a point where I could reconcile all of the major decisions that were made in life to date and I could not imagine an alternate path without voiding all of the good things that occurred had said decisions been made differently.

That did it for me, too. Mom died at 37 when I was 19. I'd only lost a grandfather before that. I think I've been good about making sure I keep priorities straight with work, family, etc. Having my second child due in a week also helps

Think back across your life at all the seemingly little decisions you made that have totally impacted the rest of your life.

Something along the lines of if I hadn't gone to that party at joes house when I was 19, I wouldn't have met my wife. Wouldn't have the kids you have, live in the house you are currently in, etc...

Child, please.

OK, 38 to 61 was the quickest 23 years; a blink.

When I was 20 years old (34 years ago), during the summer of 1987, my parents and my dad’s siblings had a family reunion at the Winbourne Baptist Church hall in Baton Rouge.

My dad had his great uncle there plus his six siblings with their families. We must have had sixty people there. It was fun ! Today, my dad and all of his brothers and sisters are gone. My mother and her two sisters are dead. It’s really depressing because I lost my brother and a few cousins within the last five years. I have a stepmom who has dementia. After she leaves the earth, I’ll be basically alone since I don’t have a family of my own. I never thought it would go down like that but it has.
