When I lived in CA my gf had a 165# Newfoundland that I would walk around town, and bring to restaurants and bars when gf was out of town. Everyone loved that dog and wanted to pet her, despite all the slobber. Dogs bring lots of joy, and I do not mind seeing them in public.

We have become a society of "what is good for me" instead of "what is courteous and proper".

During Mardi Gras this chick brings in a fricking mini horse looking dog. Big summbitch. He politely asks her to leave. She starts going on and on about how he’s a service dog and she will call the cops. So she leaves. Puts the harness on MrEd and brings him back in with the paperwork. Meanwhile the dog has been licking up on people left and right.
My mind is blown by the entitlement. Dumb fricking bitch came back the following week.
Most bars have a sign that that can refuse service to anyone. The service dog might be tricky, legally. But the owner can refuse service (or entry) to the woman. He could say her dog can stay without her but she is not welcome. I doubt she would let her dog be there without her being there too.
Problem solved.

And there's usually an employee's dog in the store, along with a free beer or drink.

Had a live music bar with a kitchen... No dogs allowed...
One night about 15 old ladies came in with a little chiwawa thingy.
As I approached the table they looked at me with an evil stare and said; "You got something against service dogs."
No way this was a service dog, but so that I wouldn't. get my arse kicked by 15 little old ladies.. he was that night.
Sold the bar... Now the new owner takes his dog to the bar every day.. LEts him drun free in the bar.. and them puts himn up on the bar counter top.

My personal guidelines for bringing our GR out are:
Is it explicitly dog friendly? Even if so, if it is overly crowded or some other complication, then probably not bringing him in.
If not clear, is it a food related place, grocery store, indoor restaurant, or anything? Then no.
And no matter where I bring him, I will not allow him to bother or encroach on anyone whatsoever. And he's 98% compliant with that.
One time when he was younger, in Lowe's walking down an aisle and he kinda goosed a lady (trying a butt sniff), but she didn't react and I walked away quickly so maybe he didn't make contact.

I only took her to dog friendly places, mostly restaurants w outdoor seating.
Speaking of buttsniffs, did you see the wolfdog on the ski track get a nosefull of one of the competitors butts? She was so exhausted she didn’t even flinch.

I am not a fan of checking in my room and it still smells like an animal has stayed in there.
I am sure ur little fur baby smells super wonderful, but not all of them do.

You so don't know me. Maybe you need to find someone on this site that has met me in person
Sounds like you're trying to be the internet tough boy.
However, watch me when someone's dog gives me unwanted attention and slobbers all over me. People need to control their animals. Restaurants and bars aren't the place for animals

Working in bars/restaurants most of my adult life, I absolutely agree.
It's annoying at best and unsafe at worst.

I hate dogs. Everyone is scared to say anything out of the risk of getting sued due to service dogs. I’d say maybe 0.1% of dogs passed off as service dogs actually are service dogs. The fake vests on a dog that clearly isn’t trained as a service dog from its behavior are the worst.

Also your dog licking me causes me a lot of anxiety, but no one seems to care about other people.

There's a boy at our church that obviously has physical and mental problems and has a big old fluffy service dog. I'm not sure what kind, might be a big fat golden retriever (I've never looked that close). It's 100% service dog, the boy is barefooted and keeps his feet on the dog lying under him at all times. Even with all the singing and music, the dog never gets up or acts crazy.
On the other hand, we were at the WW2 Museum a few years back and 2 butch dikes come strolling in with an English bulldog not on a leash with a shite ton of Mardi Gras beads around its neck. They promptly kicked the dog out and the bitches were pissed claiming it to be a service dog.

I hear the Muzzies don’t like them. So I’m fine with the dogs.
