Do you realize that R&D and advertising are factored into the price?

Nike signs guys to $100m contracts, they aren't gonna make that money back selling $40 shoes

Nike has the best training shirts, shorts (flex), and shoes (metcon2)

In my opinion, probably the mid 90's. The shoes widths began to get very narrow around this timeframe. Had a pair of Nike Air Max's that were fantastic shoes, after those wore out, I had to start going to Asics and New Balance.

Went shoe shopping yesterday and the $80 pair of asics I bought looked better and were more comfortable than the most expensive nike's. Even the Under Armour and new balance shoes > Nike. When did this happen? When we were kids Nike was tGoat

I like the way Nike running shoes look. That said, I don't wear running shoes unless actually doing some athletic activity, and I think Nike's are overpriced when compared to competitors.

I will say I like the Pegasus and will pick up prior year pair from time to time when deeply discounted.

Disagree

Have been running for ten years and have owned around 15 pairs of Pegasus. Just bought two pairs of the new 33's. Great shoes year in year out.

And as far as running apparel, there is absolutely no one close to Nike.

NIKE's been shite for a while bro.

AirMax 360's used to be my go to. Never again.

Nike have always been uncomfortable, IMO... but as far as the style, Nike was just "cooler" than other makers up to about 10 to 15 years ago....

personally, I go Puma before anything else, but that's just me... New Balance and even Under Armor are up there too...

I recently switched from Nike to Asics for my everyday, casual tennis shoe. The difference is incredible. I'll never go back.

Sure, if you are short and/or fat. A size large Nike golf shirt isn't long enough to reach past my belt.

The UA speedform shoes are better than any running shoe Nike makes.

In your mind only. Nike has always spent more on advertising than building a quality shoe. Same business model for Bose.
