It's what they've always been. When you were a child you were stupid and didn't have great problem solving skills, so things that appear to be in plain sight as an adult appeared to be hidden when you were a child. As an adult, you are stupid and aren't able to figure out that children aren't as developed as adults.

Subtle brag your family was rich and could afford tuna. My mom made egg salad or we just ate those things with salt.

Not really. That’s before they took the mercury out and the price went up.

That one caused fist fights.

I remember one year my little sister got the 20 dollar one and sweet as she is she split it with me giving me 10 dollars.

The next year I got it and my mom reminded me of my sisters kindness implying I should share. My response was “I’m not stupid like she is”

Got a whoopin for that one

Taking my kids to a hunt this afternoon. I’ve been prepping them for it to ensure maximum chances at getting the “golden egg”

Yeah they did an easter egg hunt for the kids in my family, for the first time, a few years ago. It was just a bunch of cheap plastic eggs on the ground. No hunting. Dumb. But, if that doesn't define the world we live in now...everything has to be easy.

When I was a kid the only way we ate was to actually kill our food.

There were no candy eggs.

but when you're talking large scale events that are put on by cities for their community, often in a large field or open space area, where exactly do you want them to hide them?

Next to storm drains. In the traffic medians. In between bums.

I dunno, just give it a little bit of challenge.

A neighbor hid eggs inside the house one rainy Easter. Two months later she had an exterminator come to locate the dead animal, that she was convinced was under the house.

We did an indoor hunt one year because of rain or something. Missing egg somehow ended up in a couch cushion, but it did not take 2 months to notice where the smell was coming from.

We used to cut out the egg advertisements from old newspapers and hide those.

Look at mister "we didn't have to save every scrap of newspaper to insulate our clothes during the winter" over here!
