When did all of this begin? I had the typical first day of kindergarten pic taken in my uniform standing in front of the house. 1 or 2 pics tops and then my mom drove me to school and walked me to class and then left about 5 mins later. That was it. I didn't have pictures taken every year on the 1st day, nor did my mom bring me to class anymore. School bus after that first day of kindergarten from then on out.
Seems like every thing is this huge deal nowadays, which causes these kids to have overinflated senses of importance. I guess it's not their fault when every minor occasion in their life is recorded and has photo shoots, parents taking off of work etc.
I'm glad I grew up in a simpler time to be honest. Made me much more self reliant. I actually had to accomplish things to receive recognition.
Seems to me like you just feel like complaining about something for the sake of complaining.

I'll never understand why this bothers people. Here's a fun fact: unless you're related to the child, the pics aren't really intended for you. They're for grandparents aunts/uncles etc. You know, people that enjoy seeing it. If it bothers you so much, hide their post from your feeds.

Posting the pictures of Facebook is the most efficient way to show these pictures to long distance family.

if only you would tell my mom, my MIL, all my aunts, my wife's aunts, my grandma, my wife's grandma, my cousins, my wife's friends, etc

I actually post pics of my kids to mock my friends who are single, lonely, and have no progeny.
Consequently, they post pictures of themselves at the bar on Tuesday.

Which leads to shite like the occupy movement because young people are crying that no one is treating them like the special people they are and the cruel world is unfair.
