I had a friend that worked at Circuit City while in college when people got $2500 FEMA checks in LA. Take a wild guess on who used it to buy car stereo systems.

I say let's wait a little while. Let's see how the death toll shakes out before we go to divvying up the pie. You know....less folks, bigger slices.

I worked at Foot Locker after Katrina. We blew away sales records. I ran so many tax exempt Red Cross cards.

It still serves its purpose though. That $2500 got spent somewhere which helps the economy.

No. Its purpose was for food and survival needs. Not to stimulate the economy.

You are confusing it with Obama sending out checks during the great recession.

I mean more for the Trump checks, not FEMA disaster funds. Fema checks to one part of the country vs checks given all across the country have different purposes for the economy.

Even in this instance, it's to help people survive while being out of work. It's being called a stimulus, and in a way it is, but the reality is it's to help those hurting.

It didn't take long for thoughts to go toward a certain group of people. I for one am prepared financially for long term sheltering in place. Many groups of people will not be able to do so especially those of fixed incomes.

Truth be told most of the money should not truly be given to the people for whatever. Most if not all of us will need or needs necessities to sustain life. Why not plan to subsidize grocery stores? With that grocery stores would have to slash cost by 50%.

Yall are talking that shite, but the dome miraculously sold out after Katrina too.

I watched a prominent preacher's family ripping shingles off a home.
