I had no idea daycare was that expensive...

It is in the Houston suburb that I live in. The public schools are great, so I assume that it pays to live here.

Damn son you might want to look into another daycare because you are getting ripped off! I don't pay that much for 2 kids

Depends on where you live. $1000/month plus fees is going to have us paying just about $13k/year. We are in Houston and that's normal.

Only after I save for retirement. I will if I can afford it. I'm paying for their college, so they can spare me the tears.

So you don't think college is expensive?

You gonna be paying less than 12K a year for their college?

Yes it is. If I could just get it down to $800 a month, I would be thrilled.

when they get older

vehicles, car insurance, more expensive clothes, computer, phone, etc...

besides daycare, babies/toddlers are pretty freaking cheap

unless of course your wife manages a baby boutique and buys new outfits every goddamn day

Thirteen grand a year seems quite reasonable, maybe even a little low.

So I'm pregnant with our second kid right now. If these little leeches cost more as teens than they do as toddlers, I don't know how we can afford number 3, which we have always planned to have.
