They're most expensive for the first 18 years or so.

roughly 2k/month in SF for my cousin.

Just hope you can learn how to say "no" and know what your kid is spending $$ on. I know a college student that milks her parents for so much. Asian parents, don't know so they don't ask. This girl asks for hundreds/thousands and just blows it up on drinks, going out, etc. while her parents think she's taking summer classes

I was in the same situation with daycare. Living in Texas we get a break from grades K-12, then we pay tuition again. I'm thinking 15-22 will be the most expensive years...

It's $800-$1000 a month for daycare in the Baton Rouge area. And some of them don't include diapers.

We have that one near us and we looked into it. Pretty sure it was right at about $1k/month as well, $1020 if I'm remembering right.

Mine, doesn't include diapers, we have to bring our own. I don't mind. They don't blow through them as fast when they get a little older.

My youngest is at LSU. I just drive by there thinking that place is huge. I haven't had to pay for daycare in 20 plus years.

Edited to add: I understand another one is opening in Cypress soon.

So I'm pregnant with our second kid right now. If these little leeches cost more as teens than they do as toddlers, I don't know how we can afford number 3, which we have always planned to have.

Maybe you're carrying it wrong. That could be inefficient. Some candid pics and we'll gladly volunteer our communal wisdom and commentary.

TIA.

(Always happy to assist.)
