Plug the sink, fill sink with blistering hot water. Throw Gillette fusion 5 in sink water. Shower then get out and slam on some bump patrol aka (unicorn cum). Shave and rinse off with cold water and apply some old spice.

No fancy routine or products.
Bar of white Dove soap, lather up the face in the shower, no mirror, no-look shave, perfect every time.

I shave in the shower. The steam makes a big difference. I don't have a preference for shaving cream/razor blades. Any old brand will do.

Braun electric razor. Shave every 3-4 days post retirement.

What’s the benefit over a modern one? Like the Gillette Mach whatever. I haven’t shaved in a long time.
Cost is #1. I bought my Merkur for about $35 almost a decade ago. I spend ~$10 for 100 Astra Premium blades on Amazon, and that lasts me almost 2 years. That's a whole lot cheaper than buying cartridges every four weeks.
I also think the shave is more comfortable, since you can get just as close with only one blade scraping across your face on each pass. The Merkur is a great razor to begin wet shaving with. I can get really close with two passes and baby bottom smooth with three passes.
The one drawback is that when you fly, you can't keep it in your carry-on, as the blades won't go through security. I keep a Gillette Sensor Premium on hand for those occasions.
My Kit:
Merkur 34C razor
Astra Premium Platinum blades
Stirling Soap shaving soap, in Gatlingburg, Barbershop, Weekend in Malibu, Satsuma, Hot Apple Cider, or Black Cherry scents.
Pinaud Clubman, Stirling Spice, or Stirling Rambling Man aftershaves.
I know the conventional wisdom is to shave in the shower or after showering, but I get the best results shaving before I shower.

It's just a standard safety razor. I have sensitive skin and find the single blade of a safety razor less irritating.

Expensive razors a waste of money… it’s all in the prep…
Wash face with very warm water(I use Biore charcoal cleanser with a wash cloth)
Apply shaving cream(mines is Barbersol)
Let sit for a minute
Take back of fine tooth comb and wipe off excess shaving cream
Shave with grain while constantly rinsing blade in hot water
Reapply shaving cream mixed with hot water
Shave against grain
Rinse face with warm water
Wash face with Dove bar soap and cold water
Let face air dry till damp
Apply Dove men’s care moisturizer

Merkur Futur, wide open. Sometimes a Mühle r41
Brush is a Mühle with their synthetic silvertip fiber set in a handle that matches the knurling of the r41/89.
I never liked preshave oil.
I use Taylor of Old Bond Street soaps. I try different scents here and there. Currently have Royal Forest and Rose on the countertop. I’d buy both again (and I’ve bought Rose a few times).
Not long after I first started shaving, I bought some Skin Bracer Electric Blue from Wal mart for about $5. The bottle lasted a very long time. It had a wonderful smell and feel. Decided to try their green one the next time. Didn’t like it. I kept using this until they discontinued it. You can still find some ridiculously overpriced ($75ish) bottles on eBay every now and then. For now, I have a TOBS aftershave but can’t remember which scent. It’s fine, but I’ve never found anything I like as my old, cheap Skin Bracer.

I shave in the shower. Saves time. I lather up with plain old bar soap. I’ve been shaving with the same Gillette Trac II since I was a teenager.
This was/is pretty much me. I probably change razors once a year or so. I have no memory of buying razors - the last bag of disposables I bought was probably 8 years ago or so. I do now use some Body Shop Maca Root and Aloe shave cream my daughter got me instead of the bar soap I used for a couple of decades. Shaving in the shower makes shaving so easy.

I haven't shaved shaved in a while as it grows so fast and thick that it's annoying to shave everyday, even twice if needed. But when I did I would just splash hot water on my face and use a simple 2 razor bic with an aloe strip.

A Gillette 5 blade that I get from those Christmas gift packs with Barbasol, followed by 90% rubbing alcohol for zero razor bumps.
Works like a charm.

The Mach3 is razor perfection- they keep trying to add now things to improve on it but it’s perfect the way it is. The cartridges last a long time for me - maybe my beard isn’t hard on the blades or something but I can get 2 or three weeks out of one.
For shaving cream I use a brush and this.
It works great lasts for months and there’s no can to throw away.

Everyone in here is rocking Astra blades...any of you guys ever tried Feather? They're known to be the sharpest blades out there, I believe. I definitely like them & I'm pretty sure I've tried Astra in the past.
