Mine was over 300 bucks but I have a larger home.

We don't set the stats up very high. The Mrs. likes it cooled. I just put on a sweatshirt.

Check your attic insulation. That is problem area 1. I'd go with two layers of 6" batt.

But what is your t stat set at? Lower it

If you have a high bill and think you smell gas you should certainly call...don’t bluff though...

That seems WAY too high. We’ve got 2 gas heaters, a gas water heater, and stove and it’s never got over $125 during the winter. And that’s being generous

Damn. I thought ours was high. Just got it and it's $189. 2800 sq ft house and we have 2 furnaces (one for each floor). Everyone kept saying gas was cheaper than electricity. Sure the hell didn't feel like it.

About $80 for 1500 s.f. in Dallas....old pier & beam house built in 1929. But we keep it about 72 in the living room, 66 in the bedroom and 65 in my office downstairs.

REAL QUESTION:

Not to hijack but if I smell some natural gas outside by the meter...is that normal? It's not strong say if I walked a few feet away but I smell it about a foot or two away from the meter outside.

$15 summer, $175 winter

Mine usually runs between $25-35, but my most recent bill was right at $100. House is about 2,000 sq ft. I guess we ran the heat a lot during the snow day. That's by far the highest it had ever been. I'm expecting next month to be higher with as cold as it's been.
