The elites are actually a much worse product than the regular vision in my opinion.

Fisher Space pen, bullet style with rubber grip. Used to buy them for $35 at SHarper image now get them for $12 on Amazon. They have pressurized ink and write at any angle. I like that because I write in bed sometimes.

Love my G-2 Limited (just take the ink out of the regular G-2s at work and replace them in mine).
Also love my Cross Rollerball (Bailey/Medalist). Also have the fountain version of this pen but it has been hit and miss.

Uni Ball Vision Pens are fantastic. I agree with your sentiment that they are better than the Elites
