My favorite cigar is one that someone else paid for in the same way that a purloined watermelon is far better than any you pay for...

My go to, every day stick is a Drew Estate Undercrown Maduro 6X60. About $7-$12 a stick and I do not know that I have ever been in a humidor anywhere on the planet where they were not available. They are hand rolled but pretty close to machine rolled thus their widespread availability. Good hour to hour and a half maduro smoke that burns well and produces a good thick smoke. Like all maduros pairs well with cabernets and just about any brown water. The Connecticut is also good but light for my tastes.

If it is a special occasion for the last year or so my favorite high end stick has been a Padron 1964 Anniversary Torpedo Maduro 6X52. These are $20-$30 a stick. Very smooth good burning cigar that is good for at least an hour, hour and a half. Like all Maduros they pair well with Cabernets and brown water. The naturals are also very good smokes. Lighter in the beginning but they finish strong.

My fishing, hunting, lawn work, commuting cigar is...wait for it and don't be judging....#49 Factory Throwouts (5.5X49) Robusto by JC Newman. These are 5-6 stick a day smokes...about $1.25 per stick. They have a paper binder and a very thin wrapper and the filler is probably swept up off the floor in Florida but they smoke good, last about 45 minutes, keep mosquitoes and no-see-ums at bay and cost next to nothing. They can go out and be relit and you ain't lost a thing...I regularly place one under the wiper blade of my truck while I run in somewhere and come back and finish it LOL. They are also GREAT when someone comes over when the smoking lamp is lit who does not smoke regularly because they are very mild and cost nothing when they inevitably put them out. I buy 2-3 bricks of 25 a week from my local cigar shop...they are very cheap and there have been many comparisons or similarly priced "cigars" and they always come out on top. They are not built to impress...they are built to smoke while busy doing something else and they are perfect for that.

Swisher sweets sell a pile of "cigars". They are WAAAAAAAYYYYYYY over priced though...if you smoke them (I have) and want to try a better cigar at less cost find a #49 Factor Throwout. They are almost actually cigars (paper binder) but they smoke far better than any $1 cigar I ever found (they are actually about $1.25) and cost wise are similar to convenience store Swisher Sweets etc. but actually smoke and taste like a low end premium cigar.

Punch Diablo or Rocky Patel LB1.

I like most of them, not big on the flavored stuff with the exception of Tabak Especial. Actually like those.

yeah I always have wondered if people actually enjoy cigars or they just smoke them to try and look cool. They are terrible

I have smoked cigars for about 40 years and I never got the "look cool" idea...its a brown, phallic shaped object you suck on...there ain't nothing cool about that. They are not for everyone though, I know people who try them once and like chewing tobacco they get dizzy and sick. Healthwise they are pretty benign, compared to cigarettes and even pipe smoking they are, by every study I ever saw, very benign.

Seriously, I smoke a LOT of cheap cigars...5-6 a day most days. #49 Factor Throwouts are similarly priced as Cuban Rounds and all similar cigars and infinitely better.

As a pipe smoker I will add my singular observation on cigar versus pipes.. Generally a good cigar will be as good as or better than a pipe from the smokers experience.. but the bystander(s) generally will prefer pipes aromas..

The best out of the last 3 boxes I've purchased.

Oliva Series V Melanio Robusto
Gurkha Special Edition Genghis Khan
Alec Bradley Project 40 Habano Toro

Nothing like sitting on the back deck watching the sun rise over the trees with a good cup of black coffee and a good cigar.
