Christmas day is always reserved for me, my wife and 2 kids. We get all of the other family members done before that day.

We usually open presents in the morning, go to a movie that afternoon, and have a steak dinner that night.

My family has a big party on Christmas Eve. Aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, in-laws from every corner of the family, etc. It's pretty fun. Lots of food and drink. And every year we have a Dirty Santa/white elephant/gift exchange/whatever you want to call it, and my uncle comes up with a new Christmas themed game.

Christmas Day, we keep more to ourselves. A couple of my aunts (they're twins) and their husbands get together, my grandparents usually come to my parents' place, and my cousins and their parents get together. For dessert we may branch out. Go to a friend's, have friends over, go to my brother's in-laws, etc.

Well..... We used to eat gumbo on Christmas eve. But now my family doesn't get together until Christmas day down in Austin. I go to the inlaws now on Christmas eve, eat and get put asap..... No drinking in their Christian home. Wife and I come home, pack for the Austin trip and then watch Christmas Story and drink St. Bernardus Christmas Ale.

what surgery did you have? hope it went well.

Thanks Just minor outpatient surgery...laparoscopic removal of an ovarian cyst(that went well). Was just told to take it easy for a week or so.

Gave me over a week off from work right before Christmas. Course...downside of that is I've been stuck at home all that time and not really able to do any fun Christmassy stuff this year(looking at lights, etc).

Aside from North Korea, that has got to be the worst place on Earth to celebrate NYE.

I blame Hollywood and CNN. Christmas and NYE is an annoying time for New Yorkers because of the fricking tourists. Then again tourists ruin everything. Only benefit is the money they pump into our economy.

To find things people like, go back a hundred years or more, and do my best to make it racist. What better time of the year to virtue signal?

On Christmas eve morning my wife and I go to eat breakfast with my dad and open presents. Around 3 we go to my moms, who makes appetizers, and open presents. After that we come home, watch Its a Wonderful Life, and drink wine.
On Christmas morning we sleep in and then go to my aunts to eat steaks and then open presents. Then we spend the rest of the day at her parents house, where we eat a “traditional” Christmas meal and open presents.

What the hell? Tomato gravy? You talking about Marinara sauce on your biscuits? Chocolate gravy? What the hell is that?!
