Fouled out in adult kickball championship with bases loaded down 1 in the bottom of the last inning. Lights went out immediately after so the next batter didn't even get a chance to save me from my shame. We had smoked everyone all season too and won a few titles in a row.

First and only time in probably 200 career kickball ABs. Don't think I ever got to 3, or maybe even 2, fouls/strikes before it. It was probably 15 years ago and I still feel like a fig when I think about it.

Was at the line up 2 in the first round of high school basketball playoffs with like 30 seconds left. Bricked both free throws. Thankfully we got a defensive stop and someone else iced the game.

Made up for it in the second round though. Upset the 5 seed on the road and I made 5 straight free throws in OT

Freshman football. Started RB. Playing at my dads Alma matter who he was the star rb for. He’s sitting with his old coach in the stands and I’m going off the whole game. We go to OT. They score first. I fumble to lose the game on the first play of our possession. It was a lonely bus ride back

Was the COO of a smaller company before joining a Fortune 500. Really butted heads with the CEO to the point I wasn’t going to get one of my guys killed so left.

The board forced the CEO to resign 6 months later. Prob could’ve stepped in to the big seat. Oh well, heavy is the crown. Everything happens for a reason.

My growth spurt hit in the summer between 8th and 9th grade. I went from scrub to contending for playing time at DE on the 9th grade squad. I got hurt in the first game and was out until midway during the season. My first game back, coach sends me in. The QB drops back to pass, trips and falls down. Geeked up on adrenaline, I late hit him about five seconds after the whistle blows

What’s your biggest choke moment in sports/life?

In grad school the second year students played the first years. We were the first class to start that tradition (not sure if they still do it or not). But when we played football I caught a ball along the sideline and sort of showboated into what I thought was the endzone. Come to find out it was the 5 yard line. So my flag got pulled and we ended up not scoring. As dumb as it sounds that has bothered me for the last 21 years since it happened.

We were playing on the old LSU outdoor practice fields at the football facility, so the EZs weren’t painted or anything like that. But I was pissed at myself for not being more aware of where I was. And both teams were talking shite, so I fell into that (which I rarely do) and it cost me. Idiot.

Reading the replies in this thread made me think of this, although I would in no way call it the "biggest choke" or anything like that, more like a "man can you believe this shite?" kinda thing.

-I was playing youth soccer, maybe like 8 or 10 years old or something like that. Rec league so totally not a big deal but old enough to where it's still kinda starting to be skilled and not just cats chasing a ball. Anyways the ball is kicked to me by a teammate and I'm looking down to receive it. I trap it and then pick my head up and nobody is moving. It was weird. Like there's a bunch of people around but everyone is just kinda standing there. I should've mentioend earlier but will now that I have an intense dislike of being the center of attention adn everyone staring at me. So when I look up and everyone is just standing there looking at me, my first thought was "holy shite, the ref must've blown a whistle and I didn't hear it. omg omg...they need the ball. Ok I gotta give the ref the ball right now". So I go pick up the ball and toss it to the ref. ***WHISTLE - HAND BALL*** There was no whistle and apparently this age group still had a ton of people that just stand around and look at the ball. So obviously in the grand scheme of life this isn't a big deal at all but I never forgot it bc it was kinda embarrasing.

**fast forward like 10 years**

-I'm in college at UGA playing intramural sports with the boys. We're playing indoor soccer and our team isn't too bad. Regular game, not the title game or anything. I'm a defender and our team is pressing so everyone is playing up. Other team gets a hold of one and kicks it the length of the floor and being the last line of defense I turn around to get it before the goalie and turn around to get it back in play. I've got the ball and everyone is just standing still including the refs. Let me tell you...this is like a moment from the wonder years or how i met your mother where you've got an internal dialogue talking to you. For a frickin decade I remembered that other thing, but for some reason, in that exact millisecond of a moment, I guess I didn't remember it. Because you know what happens next. I thought "oh shite, ref blew a whistle and I didn't hear it and now everyone is looking at me wanting the ball" so I bent over and picked it up and threw it to the ref. **WHISTLE - HAND BALL**

Let me tell you, that's something you never forget. I will be 110 years old on my death bed unable to eat solid foods or remember my wife but I will remember that dumb shite.

I was a junior in high school and was leading an international golf tournament (really big well known one) by 1 shot heading to the 18th (54th).

I had a handful of the best college coaches in America watching me. GA Tech, Clemson, Florida St, etc.

I 3 putted from 8 feet for double bogey to lose by 1.

Needless to say, none of those coaches offered me a scholarship.

Set up to kick a 45yd FG in HS, had to hit it hard, was just a ‘lil out of my comfort range, drilled the ball right into my center’s arse…

Missed a block after a team mate failed to pick up an edge rusher on a reverse. I tried to cutback and help but I just barely missed getting a piece of him and he ended up chasing down the running back. It sucks because we had an alley blocked out for him I could got him free. Coach blamed me for missing the block but it wasn't my guy to block

Driving the new car, got too focused on chasing a guy that was faster and had 200 more hp. Got the tires too hot and spun...
Had to talk to the RD in the pits...
