If my parents lived in a single wide how would they afford for me to be a snot nosed little privileged kid?

They can’t. That’s why it’s nothing but a sad fantasy in your feeble little mind.

Why do y’all keep entertaining this little prick? Leave him alone and he will go away.

Do you think referring to me as boy as the if you are some sort of slave driver upsets me?

It just makes you look more stupid than you can do own your own, which is saying something

You’re right. I’ll leave the little prick to his own devices. He won’t go away. But I won’t indulge him with the attention he craves.

Its low self esteem. He thinks taking client phone calls is worth a thread, and constantly is pissed off that the baws have a better lifestyle than himself, despite his metrosexual lifestyle (Niles Crane Jr)

Depends on the trip obviously.

We are going to Canby, MN in August. So 3 airline tickets, a rental car, 3 nights in a hotel. Its a wedding so shouldn't spend much there. I don't remember how much any of that costs because its been booked for so long.

October we are going to Surf City, NC. I think our share of the house was around $1200, plus gas there and back, and then we'll spend a decent amount on booze and food.

November we are going to MT. So that was just 3 airline tickets, I think they were about $400. So $1200, plus I'm sure we will go out a few times. But staying with my grandparents so lodging and car are free.

We spend a lot of money on travel every year. But we love going places with our son. He's 4 and has been to 23 states already.

Rental house on the water- 7-10k. Cost of the trip about 3-4. So 10-14k all in for family of 5.

This is an interesting topic. We were at dinner with some friends and we got into a vacation discussion. The wife and I disagreed on what was considered a vacation. She based it on time and distance while I based it on money spent. For example, I rented a cabin in the Ozarks for 4 nights while picking up the kids from camp. She didn't consider that a vacation, but I did because it cost over a certain amount of money.

The WWI museum is a day at most. Also consider the Truman Library. Very good museum on whether to drop the bomb or not.

Was looking at $2100 for five nights on the gulf. Decided to take the in-laws camper. $600 for five nights and probably about $250 on fuel.

With fuel cost the G650 is costing over $6000 an hour to operate so it depends on where we are going.

And our nanny is not giving it away. We have to pay her enough to turn down the swimsuit modeling she normally does.

most of us don't tow a pop-up to a KOA for vacation.

Those saying $5k are blowing me away. Are y’all going to Hawaii or Europe every year or something? Fuuuuuck that. I spend $2,500 at most (usually $1,500-$2,000) on most family vacations. Hell, even a Disney trip for the family costs me $3,100 but that’s so few and far between. If you’re spending $5k on a typical family vacation, you either need to invest in a vasectomy or tone down your extravagant vacations.

Or maybe I’m just a tightwad, who knows. No way am I regularly spending &5k on a family vacation every year.

You are a tightwad.
My son, wife and I spent 4 days in Boston for the US Open last weekend (fantastic trip) and it was easily +/-$4,500 for air travel/rental car/hotel/open tickets for the final 2 days and dining out.

If you aren't in your home city, and it isn't for work, I consider it a vacation.

Sometimes even work trips can have a vacation element to them.

Exceptions would be a trip for a funeral or something along those lines that is clearly not a leisure trip.
