Cokes and I don’t think it’s really close. Don’t you remember the posters in the locker room about what happens to a nickel dropped in coke?

Coke

The unhealthiness of sugar is understated

Cokes for sure. At least with beer your getting a nice buzz whereas with Coke it’s empty calories and sugar.

Probably the beer. Beer contains the sugar maltose, which has the highest glycemic index.

The information labels on Cokes and other soft drinks indicate there are like 30 grams of sugar dissolved in that 12 oz drink. That is a lot of sugar. Keep the alcohol level low and you’re probably better off with 3 or maybe even 4 pints of pale ale, pilsner or lager.

The beer is destressing you, so it's got that going for it.

Unfermenetd beer, aka wort, has lots of maltose. It turns out yeast love to convert maltose to ethanol and CO2. The final maltose amount is relatively low in finished beer.

Cokes don’t cause cirrhosis of the liver.

What if you drink a few bourbons mixed with coke?

Never heard of fatty liver? 2-4 beers won’t get you to cirrhosis but a daily 5th of vodka would be a great start.
