I feel like I used to hear about equality, now everything I hear or write is referencing equity? Can somebody explain that to me.

Equality, everyone treated the same.

Equity, everyone gets the same results.

Equal opportunity does not equal equal results. And marxists are shocked.

You've probably seem the images where they simplify the meaning and comparison right? There's this one:

That gets shared a lot in some way or another. And I think the idea of it makes sense. And I agree. But I think the way most people are going about it is wrong and makes for a bad comparison. Like you cant just say "We need equity" and then go about being a shithead in the name of it, doing whatever you want lol.

Also, I feel like in any simplified comparison like this, only one part of the scenario is used as an analogy to support the argument. Like in the third picture, we dont realyl discuss what consequences changing the fence has. It clearly looks worse aesthetically and now maybe a ball can smack you in the nuts through the fence. So is that an analogy for allowing everyone to see the game at the detriment to overall society?

Yes, their ultimate goal and they'll get there by taking what people produce and giving it to those who don't.

Like driving down the demand for tickets since everyone outside of the park can see the game now?

It's whatever the catch phrase at the moment can stir things up.

Remember just a few months ago it was about"flattening the curve",now it's about "reduce the number of cases".

"Equity", "equality" I bet most really can't adequately understand the difference.

But, I really do think many don't feel it's enough just to give everyone a chance, everyone must be given equal results.

Define that as marxism or communism as you may
