What's up with the I10 work in Mississippi?

I drove through on the way back to LA today... It looks great... Beats the crap out of I10 in Louisiana.

Last time I went, it was raining and windy with semi's stacked up at night. Was fun.
It's amazing what we take for granted as far as lights and road markings, they help.
In NOLA, this shite for brains won't even paint the lane dividing slashes. Prick.

What is up with the I10 work from Henderson to Lafayette? Also is Pensacola ever going to stop working on I10?

its because they have very solid foundations under the roads in other states that dont sink or shift around, but over here with the black jack clay swamp mud, it just keeps sinking constantly,.
thats why even when they get a perfectly smooth flat road, within a year or two it gets pot holes and humps from the road sinking at different rates everywhere.
find a hump in the road, look over and 99% there are culverts there with a shell base and the hump is the normal road height when built but everything around it sank as low as the hump is high.
sure we get crappy repair jobs done by idiots all the time, but even the best repairs are only temperary
thats why even when they get a perfectly smooth flat road, within a year or two it gets pot holes and humps from the road sinking at different rates everywhere.

the farther north in louisiana you go the better the roads are and stays that way for much longer time after being fixed

The stretch of I10 from like Sorrento to Highland has been good for a 15-20 yrs
They are about to widen it from Highland to Prairieville.

Have you never been to MS or TX? Other than a sign it is impossible to know when leaving one or entering the other on I10.
LA has shite politicians and shite contractors, you therefore have shite roads, end of story

I used to joke with the wife about this, but returning from a Destin trip etc., if I was sleeping and she was driving, I could tell immediately when we hit the La state line.
Compound that with the fact that Louisiana is completely reactionary and lacks vision, and you have the current condition of highways in the state. By the time we finish widening I-12 to three lanes, we will need a fourth.

Then adjust for that. But we don't... we use the same crappy connected companies to build them... and don't demand they step up their game.
