I am an avid CC drinker. I am also typing this while drinking Folgers.

I love CC too, but with the inflated prices I gave a can of Maxwell House Dark Silk a shot and it's good.

I found this ad for Community Coffee in the 1970’s.

That old ad is for 16 ounces of coffee. The new ad is for only 12 ounces, so 25% less coffee.

It's the economic principle of substitute product.

Regardless of where they source/produce, their competitors are raising their prices and they can too. No business worth its existence is going to keep its prices much lower than the competition when it CAN maximize profits. Especially in an industry where consumers are very brand loyal.

I mean, how many Community coffee drinkers will switch to Starbucks?!?!

I only drink a cup a day but have switched to Rouse’s brand if I run out and Community’s not on sale. Or I’ll go the other direction and just pay more for River Road.

Sometimes I'm surprised at how little people know about commodity markets.

Thought it was common knowledge about the spike in green coffee prices.

While I do like the Intense Dark Roast and French Roast, the Louisiana and Evangeline Roasts in the gold bags were very enjoyable. I guess the juice wasn't worth the squeeze on those blends.

I'll add Founders to those three. I always tried to have 2-3 of them on hand at any time.
