this is true.... my wife (vietnamese) could have a beautiful tan, which would add even more to her exotic look, but it's fricking ingrained into her head to NOT tan... it's weird... they are trying to stay lighter, white people are trying to get darker...

Because over there white is considered better than tan. If your tan it means you work on the docks. Its a society thing.
