Idk if it's the worst, but protein shake farts don't get enough hate. It's vile.

necropsy room for renewable natural resources went out.

Had decades worth of samples that defrosted. Buckets of dead fish and piles of rotting vegetation.

The smell of rotten melted bay anchovies, pogies, etc. will never be forgotten.

Without a doubt nothing is worse than a decomposed human body.

I've read several books about this place. Were you doing research there? I'm curious to hear more.

For me, it was a rotting cape Buffalo in ZA. It was the most pungent thing I've ever smelled, and I can still remember it 20 years later.

Open air mass grave site. Small village about 20 miles north west of Baghdad around late 04 early 05. Every male in the village was killed and left to root. We never found out who did it. Translator told us the women where telling him we (army did it) but at that time the whole country knew that we would give pay outs if they would say we did something to them. Lucky for us it was winter time I can only imagine the smell if it was July or August.

My first vehicle was my grandfather's old 89 Ford Ranger he used for bird hunting... When I picked it up there was a horrendous smell when I got in it.. Had to drive with the windows down.. started cleaning it out and found a hunting vest sitting in the back that had birds left in it form his hunt from the week before... When I picked it up the contents sloshed.. pretty much bird soup inside.. still have PTSD about that..

They sell Durian fruit and we decided to buy one back in the late 00s. When we cut that thing open and got the first whiff, I think 2 of our group of 4 started puking. Just absolutely horrendous.

quote:

Durian fruit is often "banned" in certain public spaces like hotels and public transportation due to its extremely strong, pungent smell, which many people find repulsive, causing discomfort to others and lingering for a long time even after the fruit is consumed; essentially, it's banned because of its overpowering odor that can permeate an entire area.

Years ago during a squirrel hunt our dog somehow got ahold of a mink. The musky smell that thing let loose would gag a maggot.

Shrimp heads that had been in a plastic container in for about a week. Couldn’t smell a thing because it had a crusty seal over the top but when I grabbed the handle and broke the seal. About turn and 4 quick steps away to projectile vomiting. Ended up coating a bandana in Vicks salve and tying around my face to drag it into the woods where it stayed, forever.

Only time in my life I’ve reaction puked. shite was horrible
