Opening and then closing a business funded by my 401k. Dumb dumb dumb. But I love my wife.

I built a house in 2007, and triggered the housing market collapse when I signed the final paperwork in December.
Same...I felt the market was quickly getting out of reach, so I scrambled and bought my first home in late 2007. I think I am still under water on this thing today.

I was an idiot with credit cards in my younger days. Finally got debt free (minus mortgage) after nearly three years of paying that stuff off.
Other than that, I should have started saving for my retirement way before I did. I'll be working about a decade longer than I should.

Other than little shite at bars/casinos I can’t really single out one, which is scary cause I’ve made several big investments so now I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop

Graduated college, got a good job, and bought a brand new Yukon. I regret it now. Spending big money on cars is not smart, IMO.

Rushing to buy a house, all in the name of the American dream and getting out of an apartment. Should have lived there through the lease and started looking about 3 months out. Ended up buying a new construction townhouse with several amenities. Should have gone with a starter garden home instead.

Back in 2001, buying a house , new car and leasing an apartment in Texas all within 6months. By early 2002, I was laid off and only managed to pay off on car.
