Tops was great back in the day but now that I’m paying for it they should get rid of it
Agreed. Half the people that get a degree leave the state. What are taxpayers getting out of it?

They finally lowered the ACT reqs for homeschoolers.
yes, that’s unfortunate

state couldn’t control what Billy learned at homeschool, so the state pretended to make sure homeschoolers had a decent education before going to college (because most Louisiana public school education is top notch) - but by passing laws like this - it’s a step closer to controlling what homeschoolers do

You need proof of a job offer from a Texas-based company.

TOPS Guide

That guide is recently out of date. In addition to the awards listed, there is now a new TOPS award: TOPS Excellence

Requires a 3.5 and a 30+ ACT. Covers the average amount of tuition and fees at most schools, with the exception LSU BR whose tuition and fees have maxed out the award at 12K annually.

I think when I was in school you had to have a low 3 GPA and a 23 on the ACT. Heard it got much tougher. What is it now?

Wrong. For the basic university reward (“opportunity”) it has been 2.5 and 20 for decades

They have kids in the ghetto with a 4.5 gpa that make an 11 on the act

This is why the Ivy League schools brought back SAT requirements with swiftness.

Yea that's what's kind of causing the economy to falter right now. You have all these college "educated" kids getting useless jobs that don't pay them enough money. They then cant afford the services of a technician because there are fewer of them around (supply & demand). But still think they deserve to make more money than said technician.
