I woke up in Mammoth, CA to 0 degrees and blizzard warnings. We almost didn't get down the mountain. Ended the day in Death Valley where it was 85. It was an LSU trip and I know a few other posters were on the same trip.
That was an awesome trip! BottomlandBrew who are you?!?!? A.P.?

Several years ago I was on a business trip. In Indy it was around 70 when I got to the hotel. Got out and went for a walk around downtown. When I got back to the hotel it was in the 30s.
Same business trip up to Detroit. When I boarded the plane it was very low teens and when I landed in Memphis it was in the upper 60s
Back in the 90s I went to bed and it was in the low 80s. Woke up around 3 for a duck hunt. Had to drive a couple of hours and the temp had dropped into the low teens and all the rain had flash froze. On the walk to the spot to hunt, water than got kicked up froze to my gun and coat. I had about .5" of ice on my waders and coat. Was one of the best hunts I've ever been on.

Back in 1979 I was heading to New Orleans from Lake Charles in early December. It was about 35 degrees when I left Lake Charles. Just south of Baton Rouge I caught up with the front and on the other side it was 84 degrees.
When I passed through the front line my windshield cracked completely across and fogged up. That night it snowed in New Orleans.

Probably not the most extreme, but the day of the first SEC Championship Game in 92 comes to mind. It was pleasant that morning when a friend called saying they had an extra ticket. I was outside fiddling around in jeans and flannel shirt and was comfortable when he called. I grabbed a light jacket to take with me, but by the time we got to Birmingham, the temp had plummeted and I was ill-prepared. Probably the coldest I have ever been, and had it not been for the nice lady behind us sharing her blanket with me, I probably would have gone back to the car at halftime.
If I recall, the temp was around 55-60 midday, and by the end of the game it was in the upper 20's.

Try living in ohio. We deal with huge drops all the time. Go from seventies to waking up to snow. I can drive a half hour from my house up towards the lake and the temperature will drop 30°
