Weird melt.

I use my Kroger one and got 35 cents per gallon off my gas last time i got gas.

Cause for many if you use your own card tied to your account....you also accumulate points that you can use for further discounts(like gas).

I've saved a dollar off per gallon of gas with my grocery points.

That might be true. Publix I think the cashiers all have them around their necks. But at Kroger there's literally one in the store, glued to a clipboard they pass around

You don’t count because you’re too lazy to get a card. But for people who actually have a card.

The card is tied to you individually. They scan the card and then all the items rung up in that transaction are tracked. Whether you use cash is irrelevant. In fact the store cards are really the only way they can track cash paying customers purchase histories.

But they accumulate this data and make all types of decisions based upon it. No different than Facebook.

Nah. I've been a handful of times. I hate golf, my husband hates golf.

What's the point of going there if you hate golf and are not single?

So basically I should continue to not get a card. Because my gas is paid for, and I'm getting all the discounts anyways, and not being tracked, and not having data collected on me
