What’s the point of being lower middle class?

Right outside of any low income benefits and quality of life is lower. Why do I put in 40 hours a week for 36k a year which was like 30k after tax with no insurance when I can be considered low income, get subsidies, insurance, and low income housing with 15k a year

if it makes you feel better I know lawyers who graduated with 6 figures in debt who started out making 40-45k/year

Made 50k a year for 5 years of residency. All e debt jumped into 6 figures

That’s about half of lawyers lol. That field is more about upward mobility. Those who start 100K plus will have no lives until they’re about 45, i.e. their youth is largely gone.

yeah i always kind of compared residency to the partner track for most lawyers

there are even tiers that somewhat track

I feel like if I was making that amount a year I'd just pick up stakes and move to the Caribbean, SE Asia or something. I'd rather struggle in a cool location/paradise than East St. Louis or bum frick Arkansas.

You can be a bartender or maid anywhere.

Bitches have no high expectations of you. Pretty much any purchase you don't like is easily vetoed without argument.
