Of course she said that. They need to get people in the door to listen to the pitch.

I will buy that car from you with the money I am inheriting from my long lost uncle from Nigeria, as soon as it hits my bank account.

Seriously though, you're about to win one of the Rainbow air fresheners, and then a visit from the Rainbow salesman!

The lady said I most definitely won something, but i had to meet with the general manager. I asked her if it was some bullshite scam and she laughed and said "no you for sure won something but i am not allowed to tell you over the phone you will have to come in".

I think the last time I saw one of those it was you could have won one of these:

1. New Car
2. Ipad
3. Lottery Ticket

And of course everyone won. Every single person on that mailing list won. And there is a car to be won. It's just that your dealership plus 200 other dealerships across the country will share the shot at that ONE car. It's a common sales ploy.

It sounds like you won a $1 lottery ticket which makes "you definitely won something" a factual statement. Just a ploy to get you to come into the dealership for the "whats's it going to take to get you into this car today?" routine.

So, tell me more about this air freshener. I "won" one a couple of years ago at the bayou bash. They kept trying to schedule an in home visit to drop it off, etc, but I never did cash in on it. Is the air freshener worth dealing with a pushy salesman for an hour?

Don't do it. I know multiple otherwise rational people who ended up buying this magical $2000 vacuum after swearing up & down they wouldn't fall for the presentation. I think the sales people drug you.

You will have to push him out of the door at an hour....unless you just buy the vacuum.

So first warning is that it says you won a car, but she has to check with the GM to see what you've won?!

Then there is that whole, nothing is for free thing....it's true, absolutely nothing in life is free....

If it's too good to be true, it's not....you will either be hounded with sales calls from your number you gave them or like the OP said, it's a sales pitch....Tell them to eat a bag of dicks and move on.

They sent me a key glued to a letter one time for my "new car" and to call for details on how to drive away in said "new car". I showed up to the dealership just sticking the key in all the cars trying to drive them away. They were not happy. Said it didn't work like that. I told them they don't know how keys work. Well, they got the last laugh when I broke my damn key off in one of the doors losing any chance I had of starting up my new free car.

That's the catch, i read everywhere and can not find any bs in the footnotes. It advertises a car, a tv, $500, and a lottery ticket.

It could be real. My wife's Grandmother did one of those scratch off things from a local car dealer. She actually did win a 40 inch Sony TV.
