They do offer some therapies (massage, therapeutic ultrasound, etc.) which is good, but the cracking a popping they do is all bull. But, if that cracking and adjustments makes you "feel better" (placebo), then by all means ...

You can be referred to a chiropractor by a lawyer. All you need to know.
Lawyers also refer people --- and far more frequently --- to neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, opiate prescribing pain management doctors, shrinks, plastic surgeons and even audiologists.
Not sure what your point is here.

It’s disingenuous to claim placebo. If that’s all you’ve gotten, either you haven’t been to one or you’ve been to a knuckle popping quack.
The ability of a good chiro to tune up your body for better physical mobility and less discomfort can be amazing.

l Just get some Percocet or Oxycontin. You wont need a massage or chiropractor. The Oxycontin may have you making as many return trips as the chiropractor though
This. My cousin has fibromyalgia and only the OxyContin helps. Luckily he found a chiropractor to prescribe it for him

This is the problem that most people have with Chiropractics. They don't prevent you from getting back into that shape to where you need another visit. Most physical therapist find the root cause of what's causing your discomfort and help you to avoid getting there again. It usually involves a program of strengthening certain muscles that you have to do away from the clinic.
Full disclosure... my wife is a physical therapist. She has the ability to "tune you up" but also knows why you need tuning up and how to prevent you from getting there again.

Are you one of the overweight people that come in and say my back and knees hurt but I don’t want to lose weight?

They would like for you to believe that their methods can cure most anything but they are very limited. More like placebo medicine

Every chiro I have been too has given me a routine of stretching and strengthening. If you don't do it you are not getting the full benefit of the service. And, no matter how much of that you do, there will be times when you still need treatment. It happens, even with PTs, which is why people end up going to PTs on numerous occasions over several years.

Chiropractors for bones
No doubt.
I had a Gustilo IIIc tib-fib fracture like this, and some dumbass orthopod wanted to operated on me.
My chiropractor adjusted my lumbars, and it healed right up.
Gotta watch out for those quacks out there.

At least a crystal healer hasn't broken anyone's neck.

You physical therapists act like a few extra pounds is a bad thing but I’m really strong

Yeah a good one may help with a few things..
A fricking massage works waaaayyyy better imo.
Insurance covers chiropractors... I wish they covered massages. Take your pick kind of thing.

but I’d go to one who was also an MD.
A chiropractor is not a MD. They don’t go to medical school.

I don’t like how they claim to be Doctors. It irrationally bothers me when they say it.
Posted on 8/16/18 at 11:37 am to al_cajun
the majority of ppl I've known my that became doctors are very smart. The 2 guys I know that became chiropractors aren't that intelligent, and I wouldn't trust them with my spine

No shite. That’s why they are DCs. Hence the “they are few and far between” comment.
But I have seen some who are MDs and DCs. Meaning they graduated from a proper med school and chirp school. The sign would say, “Captain Swafer, MD, DC”
