On topic: I may get flamed, but Thibodaux. It has alot of ups including quick access to prime fishing (Chauvin to GI) as well as BR/NOLA (if needed).

Not an incorporated town, but about the size of one, which would be probably the nicest (and wealthiest) town is...

Roughly bounded by the Orleans Parish line, Airline, Causeway Blvd., and I-10. Charming Metairie Road is the commercial center and runs through the middle of it. Nice houses and lush greenery-- tons of spreading live oaks. ALL the schools are top-notch. Very little multi-family and no low-income 'hood' areas. Walkable and bike friendly.
