Louisiana State Police are glorified meter maids.

Go fight it. Will be dropped to a seat belt. Be more careful next time. Start talking to local officials if it bothers you enough to push the issue.

Down in White Castle on Hwy 1 just before Hwy 69, damn near everyday someone is pulled over for speeding. When you're getting into White Castle, limit drops from 65 to 35. Turn onto 69 and it drops to 30 then back up to 45. White Castle PD makes fricking money.

I must have been fortunate to have rarely seen a cop during my times going through White Castle.

I don't really blame them, tbh. A lot of people cross the street by foot regularly. I mean, they live there. It's what they do.

If you weren't speeding you won't see them. They actually hide themselves really well when they want to.

I think that the Louisiana State Police do a very good job policing the interstates in Louisiana. My car broke down one December night in 2004 and a state police officer from Troop B picked me up on the side of the Interstate and brought me to a restaurant in LaPlace. He called my parents and they came to being me home. It was like 37 F cold that night. LSP was a big help to me !

Theyre mostly secretaries wearing guns acting like badasses.

And obviously you work or your spouse are employed by lsp.

If they gave a damn, theyd report to Dotd and their bosses when a damn speed limit is BS and maybe even go sit somewhere else.

How many fatal accidents do they have to clean up on Airline before they say something?

Or meanwhile sit their arse on Bluebonnet and Nicholson and write tix while they wait for the wreck call on 61?

I respect the fact they risk their life every moment, but use some common sense when those of us not trying to hurt you are involved.

BOOOOOOM!!!! The OT made it happen and they heard me bitching. 310 is going to 70mph

YES SIR!

Finally 310 will not be easy money for LSP

Guess I've been lucky commuting for 11 years on I10. I've only had one experience with LSP where the trooper was a dick. Otherwise, they've been extremely professional, polite, and understanding.

I agree they seem to miss a lot of violations other than speeding, but I think LSP is a hell of an agency. Not marginalizing whatever corruption or unethical shite that goes on, but i give em high marks in general.

LSP Troop B makes BANK on that stretch and it benefits their budget to keep it at 60. End of story.

You realize that LSP receives no money from tickets.....all the money goes to the parish.

Someone has to pay to keep the peace. May as well be the average law abiding citizen.
