I sent my girlfriend flowers in 1989 through CompuServe. I'm old.

Tickets for 1996 Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games (Track/Field + Baseball).
Bought in Computer Lab at CEBA. Watched Skip & Warren a few months later, wearing LSU jersey, at Fulton County Stadium.

Don't remember 1st purchase, but I do remember when "the internet" first started as BBS boards. We were still running DOS.
We all thought how great it was! Everything was free! Shareware games like Doom and Descent!!
All my friends were thinking "How great is this? Everyone in the world is going to be making programs and sharing them for FREE! This is so wonderful and the future of all this free shite is going to be off the chain!
How frickin' wrong were we?

Airline tickets. I immediately knew doing business this way was going to be great. Much better than having to talk with someone on the phone. Just being able to make a purchase at the exact moment I wanted something, was amazing!
The worst thing I ever had happen was buying tickets from Continental one day, then getting back on their site to confirm, or print something the day of the flight, and their whole interface(?) had changed. I had to call them to find out where to put my membership info. That kind of stuff isn't as big of a deal now, but I was completely lost back then.
