What's the fastest you've ever driven?

120 down a two lane road with vehicles in the front and back of me . Racing to fix a data outage somewhere on the outskirts of El Paso. Cop hits his lights we all stop. Our crew leader tells the guy that there is an outage. He gets back in his cruiser and leads the way there with lights on hauling arse. It was stupid to do.

When I was 21 and stupid I had a Ford Torino with a 351c engine. Buried the speedometer on the straightaway road between Lenoir City and Marysville, TN, (around Friendsville, TN) and still had pedal left. The car felt like I had no control, like being on a magic carpet ride, very spongy. Scared the crap out of me. My guesstimation is in the 140-150 range. Haven't driven over 85 since then and I'm in my 50's. Oh, and no freaking seat belt either. What was I thinking.

138 in a Trans Am on I10 between Siegen and the 10/12 split. I computed my speed using RPMs. Anything over 100mph and speedometers tend to be inaccurate. And I'm not buying a 150+ run from New Orleans to Baton Rouge. Traffic comes up very fast and screws with your speed. Plus the engine and tires are not built for that sustained speed for that long.
I ran 150 plus many times from 2006 to 2008 running from New Orleans to Baton Rouge on Friday afternoons after gettingoff of work. I topped out at 160 or so. Too fast... 140 to 150 was comfortable in my 2005 Corvette. People get over pretty quick when they see a Corvette coming, at least that was my experience. Once a big rig pushed me off the road going 100 plus, and it wasn't very fun driving on the right shoulder of I-10 at 100 plus mph.
Once after a weekend in Destin for the New Year, a brand new 911 passed me up with Louisiana temp tags. There was a younger looking girl on the passenger side, so I figured it was some young dude with a new Porsche. I followed them through Alabama, Mississippi and into Louisiana going 130 plus the whole time. Once we reached the Covington exit they went into the exit lane and I pulled up on the left side of the car to see that it was 60 plus year old looking lady driving... I was following a grandmother driving 130 plus for a good portion of the trip from Destin to Baton Rouge.

Maryville, hit 150s through there all the time (highway 321) when I lived in Lenoir City. Lots of open spaces for it there.
East coast tellico parkway and highway 72 was always fun when going to deals gap for speed runs too.

That must be a shitty highway because that isn't fast at all, especially for that car.

Went 135 on my motorcycle when I still had it. And went 150ish in a cop car once when we were riding in a parade and he got a call and had to fly outta there.
