And what's the deal with Ovaltine.... The Jar is round, the glass is round... They should call it Roundtine....
Roundness directly describes an oval, circularity describes a circle. Ovaltine is accurately packaged.

rednecks have been wearing tight arse Wranglers for years and working in them just fine
Real Wranglers arent low rise. My problem with most jeans now is when you squat down, you're showing arse.

Clothes in general fit tighter and are cut more slim these days. I like it. Sucks for the fatties though.
This.
Those jeans are just designed to sit lower, almost on your hip bones as opposed to up by your belly button. They're the only kind I wear, and chicks dig em

The inseam is the inseam. If it's a 32" inseam, it's 32". The inseam feels higher because the pants are made to sit lower on your hips. You just pull them up because you are used to them sitting higher
Yep.
It's now considered "cool" and "sexy" to show your hip area assuming you aren't muffin top. I fit in these jsut fine but I'd rather go back to functional and comfortable - I'm in the minority I guess.

Levis changed the 505's sometime around 2010...they actually made jeans in Knoxville a until the late 90's...They actually closed 11 U.S. manufacturing facilities in 97 & 98. They shut down their last U.S. plant in 2003 and have pretty much turned to garbage since then.

Pants and jeans have been way too frumpy for years. The long inseam is the major reason. If you aren't a big fat person it looks a lot better.

Do you mean inseam or rise? I can't picture what you're talking about?

To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, I didn't leave the Levi jeans company. The Levi jeans company left me.
I was a loyal customer until they started changing the damned fit every time I got a new pair. I gave up.
I don't wear jeans often now, but when I do I usually go with Lands End.

Also, it is hard as hell to find the 527s in a regular jean color anymore. 95% of them are really dark.
I feel your pain, but I've got to tell you man, like it or not, 527's are no longer in style, and apparently haven't been for quite a while. Last summer, I went to the Levi's store on Times Square thinking they would have everything made in every color. When I asked "where ya 527's at?", the lil clerk lady looked at me like I was an uncleaned, two headed, 180 pound humanoid version of a walking turd. Then, in a scene reminiscent of Julia Roberts on Rodeo Drive, she begrudgingly directed me to this one, out of the way, non-prominently displayed, fart of a shelf, and told me the things that they had that would fit me could be found there.

ITs part of an ongoing fashion trend to make men look less masculine. Jeans are meant for work. You can't work in skinny jeans.

I think he means rise, not inseam. Confused post is confusing because of confused confusion.

I don't know why they did that because it was fine before, but I don't want to be walking around with a moose knuckle blaring out all day.
You could do the OT baller thing and just get all of your pants custom tailored. That's what i do.

It's not just a fat problem. I've lost a shitload of weight. I'm 5'10" and 160 lbs. Most pants these days are made to be worn at the hip instead of the waist. I find it highly annoying and it's difficult to find pants that wear at the waist now.
