I make a point to take a walk around Rice's campus. It is so much more structured and rigid in its layout compared to many campuses, especially LSU. It is also immaculately maintained. Very nice place...

I think Vanderbilt actually blends into Nashville pretty seamlessly.

Big Schools:

Wisconsin
Colorado
UNC

Classic Campus Schools:

Princeton
Richmond
Duke
Wake Forest
Davidson
William and Mary
UVA

Coolest Urban Campus:

Columbia
Georgetown

Not sure which category Appy state fits into but it’s just in such a pretty area

Haven’t been to hardly any schools out west.

There are too many to name.

Our colleges and universities are one of the main reasons why this is the greatest country there is.

That was my one knock against Michigan. There's kinda two campuses and you have to take a bus between them. UW is super walkable for a really big campus. I knew maybe 2 people with cars and most just had bikes or mopeds. I walked like an OT poor.

Sad that that much money is spent on a campus while the entire town around it is a shithole.

That's the rub on Notre dame and yale.

You know, all the money and technology these days why don’t we ever build anything amazing anymore? Those old buildings are architecturally magnificent. Everything today is so cheap and bland looking

At some point in recent history we ran out of kids that wanted to be stone masons.

UVA was looking rather scabby the last time I was on campus not so long ago

Beautiful buildings but strange vibe overall for me

What do you mean? South Bend or the atmosphere on campus?

I gotta think those majestic old buildings, while awesome, would also be insanely expensive nowadays. But i love em.

UW just had terrific geography occupying an isthmus between two lakes. Definitely a cool campus with capitol building right there as well.

Not only that but there’s so many options today on where and how to spend money. Back then the best way to spend money was to build bad arse architecture

Rhodes College is one of the nicest.

Love the thread…surprised that I’ve been to many of the ones listed herein.

Fun fact, LSU was based off Standard, which was itself based off Santa Clara (one of the original Spanish missions in CA)

Rhodes is pretty but surrounded by a big iron gate in a not so great area.
