I've been to both multiple times...
UNC Charlotte is much nicer than both IMHO...
If you like old...its Duke
If you like Traditional UNC.
If you like new w/ prestine landscaping...UNC Charlotte
Now the 2nd largest university in North Carolina

Went to both Duke and Notre Dame. Duke was nice, but Notre Dame was absolutely immaculate.

What do you mean? South Bend or the atmosphere on campus?
Both. South Bend was sketchy and then you roll through the pearly gates and it’s like you stepped into Narnia. The excessive gold and ornate architecture just screams of the overconsumption and opulence which is indicative of the Roman Catholic Church but as a non-Catholic, felt sad considering the extreme poverty surrounding the campus.

Northwestern Princeton and Duke are nice if you like old Gothic, imitating Oxford, Cambridge.

There's a small catholic school in Newport, RI called Salve Regina that is right on the water and within walking distance of the breakers and all the old mansions. The cliff walk at the breakers goes right through part of the campus.

Fairbanks - yeah, even in the summer there is a room that you can visit that is held at -40 F (or maybe -60 F, not sure).
