Was driving back from my client on 294 in Chicago. Going about 70 mph heading up to the split where it shoots you toward Indiana, or into Chicago...so it's about six lanes wide there.

I passed a semi on the right, because I needed to make my way over. Just got him out of my periphery and suddenly my car jerked left violently. I thought I had a blowout so I looked forward to see where I was heading, and the next thing I know, I'm completely sideways with a semi grill in my drivers side window. He had basically done a pit maneuver on me.

And, he was pushing me sideways down the expressway at 65 mph. I was able to essentially back off his grill and flip back around. Somehow kept control and didn't get smoked by any other cars or trucks. Was able to get over to the should through three lanes.

Not a scratch on me but there were more than a few ways that could have ended very badly for me.

I didn't see anything. I woke up in the hospital and they told me what happened.

i tend to think that that's what it's like when you die...that's just it. No memory, no consciousness..nothing. Just like before you were born. Perhaps that makes me an atheist...

totaled my infiniti g37 on hwy. 44, not but like 2 miles from my house....

was driving with flip flops on and got one of them caught up under the brake pedal... i looked down to get it unstuck, and drifted over to the other lane... hit a ford 150 going the opposite direction almost head on... i was knocked unconscious and woke up to a very scary scene...

the cops responding to the accident were told "head on collision" and when they saw the wreck they figured i was dead, and were actually surprised i was not really hurt at all, other than a brush burn on my forehead from the airbag....

To actually die I mean. That is per a doctor. A friend took a bottle of Xanax. 30 day supply and didn't even go to the hospital.

Xanax

that's ONE benzo... but to think that ALL benzos are the same, and to say that it's hard to OD on benzos is foolish...

and that is per me, a doctor....

I don't know about Oleyellers case, but I know some people can become "sensitized" to certain chemicals exposures over time. Some people can work with a low level of exposure to chemicals for years and then "suddenly" any exposure causes a bad reaction. It's not really "suddenly", because it's usually the result of a cumulative effect over a long period of time.

I also know a guy who got a bone marrow transplant from his sister and also acquired her shellfish allergy.

Last week I was crossing la1 at a light, my light had been green for a couple seconds and the light on la1 had been red for a good 3 seconds, I was crossing the right lane of la1 when an SUV came flying by in the left lane of la1. He never slowed down for his red light. Missed the front of my truck by maybe a foot. If I would have been paying attention as soon as my light turned green and went, he would've probably hit my door and I know it would've killed me. He was going about 60. Weird thing about it is, as soon as I got on la1, the car infront of me had a license plate that said "THKUGOD".

When you made this post did you know that "die" is an archaic term for "cum"?

I know someone who suddenly became allergic to shellfish after being stung by a jellyfish. They're not sure of the causality, but they think it was this.

Got hit (not in a car) by a suburban XL in a residential neighborhood on Halloween a couple years ago. 37 stitches and 18 sutures to where my elbow penetrated a softball sized hole in the front windshield.
Should have died.

There was this one horrible event in my life. I shudder even thinking about it, but I'll go on.

It was my mother in law's birthday and she wanted to eat at a pizza restaurant. There were no healthy options on the menu... Hell, even the salads had croutons and dressing...

I'm not sure how I made it through alive and with my sanity.
