My brother-in-law was the pilot of the Avianca passenger jet that Pablo Escobar had blown up shortly after takeoff in Bogota, Colombia in November 1989.

I had an uncle who retired from the US Army as a brigadier. In the early '80s he was an exchange officer with the British Army testing prototypes for what would become the Challenger1 tank. The commanding officer broke his leg shortly before Charles and Diana's wedding and my uncle rode with the British 11th Hussars in the wedding procession. I believe he led them due to the injury but I'm not 100% on that.

My 5th great grandfather was James Calhoun and his brother was....John C Calhoun. So I guess you could say my family was close to history since Calhoun was involved in so many things from 1812-1850. My dad had a bunch of Calhoun family papers and he gave them to Clemson or the group that runs Calhoun's Fort Hill home in Clemson.

My aunt Toni Mack was a Forbes editor. She wrote an article which highlighted and publicly questioned Enron’s mark-to-market financial reporting tactic; the first to do so.

What BS!??
How is what I said BS. You could google the clues I dropped and the WW2 soldier pops up. Only one man survived that and had an Air Force Base named after him.

My great x6 grandfather founded Madisonville.
Madisonville was founded by Jean Baptiste Baham in 1800, before the United States acquired this area, as the town of "Coquille" or "Cokie" because of the abundance of shells in the area, at the site of the Native American village of "Chiconcte". The town was renamed in honor of US President James Madison around 1811.

I’m of Nordic descent. Pretty sure my X20 great grandfather pillaged and killed some famous king or priest.

My great grandfather was close with Huey Long and an elected official for 16 years (4 terms) during Huey’s years. Our current seats in Tiger Stadium are about 35 rows up on east side as these were given to my great grandfather to look through binoculars to keep an eye on the LSU sideline as Huey was coaching.
Same great grandfather was in State Capital when Huey Long was shot, heard the shots and everything. My family about 10 years ago tracked down the typed out questioning from FBI with my great grandfather about what he saw that day and had it framed for my grandfather. He did see some unusual stuff that day.
Grandmother on other side was first woman to attend Tulane medical school. She was in a fraternity haha.
